The Lion King Almost Broke A Major ‘Infinity War’ Record Within 24-Hours
Disney yet again proved its dominance in Hollywood with the recently released trailer of Lion King which seems like the only thing people are currently talking about. The trailer itself achieved some great feats merely after 24 hours of its release. No one thought that the film will attract such a massive response as it almost broke Infinity War’s record of most views within the first 24 hours.
The original Lion King was one of the most polished animated films to have found its way to the theatres, creating a magnanimous effect that has lasted for more than 25 years now. And now, Disney is seemingly cashing on that!
Disney has given fans a lot to cherish over the years. From Star Wars to the MCU to Disney’s fairy tale stories, the studio always has something exciting for fans. Earlier, we saw Jungle Book which made its way to the theatres in 2016, followed by 2017’s Beauty and the Beast. They will be coming with another Mary Poppins film in December.
However, it’s 2019 that looks truly amazing with releases like The Lion King, Dumbo and Aladdin. we haven’t seen much from Aladdin, but Dumbo seems to be doing pretty good with its trailers while Lion King was viewed by more than 224.6 million people in its opening 24 hours. It falls short of Infinity War by only 5.4 million views but still reaching close to Infinity War is a record in itself.
The coming year will also see the big acquisition of 21st Century Fox by Disney Studios and will allow Disney to focus on the future projects which will most likely see the X-Men and Fantastic Four finally under one roof. They will also be starting their own streaming platform called Disney+ which will feature shows like Loki, Star Wars and a rumoured Scarlet Witch, and Winter Soldier and Falcon series.
From MCU, we will get Captain Marvel in March while May will see the Avengers 4 and later in the year we have Spider-Man: Far From Home. From Star Wars, fans will get to see the epic finale titled Episode IX.
Seems like 2019 belongs to Disney!
