The images revealed the cut costume upgrade for Iman Vellani’s Ms. Marvel, that was supposed to get an outer space look with a helmet.

The Marvel’s Iman Vellani’s Ms. Marvel Suit Had A Helmet Giving Outer Space Vibes

The Marvels is the direct sequel to the 2019 released Captain Marvel. Recently, Brie Larson posted a few pictures of BTS from the set of The Marvels on Instagram. According to the slew of photos posted by the actor, a picture went on to reveal the original costume of Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel in the franchise. Iman Vellani’s character was supposed to get a costume upgrade with a helmet that would have helped her breathe in outer space. However, due to unknown reasons, it wasn’t included in the theatrical cut.

After the box office failure of The Marvels, Brie Larson provided an important update about the future of Captain Marvel in the upcoming MCU projects. During the recent SAG awards, Larson was asked about the future of Captain Marvel in the MCU. She refrained from directly answering the question and stated-

 “I don’t have anything to say about that.”

The Marvels is one of the worst-performing projects from MCU. It went on to gross only $206 million on a production budget of $274.8 million.

Iman Vellani on How Brie Larson Helped Her Prepare For Her Role In The Marvels

During an interview with CBR in November 2023, Iman Vellani spoke about her co-star Brie Larson. The Canadian actor expressed gratitude for Brie Larson’s supportive behavior during the filming of The Marvels. She said-

Brie made herself very available to me while I was filming Ms. Marvel. She was the first person to contact me when I got cast. She got to know me as a person and asked me about my fears and insecurities. It was really nice to have someone hold my hand throughout all this and be the only other person who could understand what it’s like being in a super-suit.”

Vellani revealed that Brie Larson was always available to help her, even on Facetime. She shared-

How embarrassing it can be at times doing fight scenes that are going to look cool on-screen, but you’re in a bald cap with tracking dots on your face in your super-suit in a harness in front of a green screen. It’s a lot, and everyone is staring at you.Brie would FaceTime me whenever I’d ask her, “I’m having an issue with this on Ms. Marvel. Can we talk?” Absolutely!” Brie and I already had an established relationship going into The Marvels.

The 21-year-old actor was introduced to the billion-dollar superhero franchise with the miniseries Ms. Marvels in 2022. According to Iman Vellani, Brie Larson adopted the role of an elder sister for her during the filming of The Marvels. 

The Marvels is currently streaming on Disney+.
