“The reason he’s full of sh*t is that he’s an abused child”: ‘Succession’ Star Brian Cox Makes Controversial Statement About Donald Trump’s Childhood
The Scottish actor Brian Cox is renowned for his role in Succession. Cox’s performance in Succession is certainly one of the best performances of his career. The actor is seen playing the role of the patriarch, Logan Roy. Apart from his best work in Hollywood, the actor is also known for his outspoken attitude.
The actor has often given his unsolicited opinion about many celebrities, but this time Cox opined on former President Donald Trump. Recently, during an interview, Cox compared the character of Logan Roy with that of Donald Trump. He even expressed his disinterest in portraying the role of former President Donald Trump anytime in the future.
Why is Brian Cox not interested in playing Donald Trump’s character?
Brian Cox is a versatile actor, as his performance in the television series, Succession, proved. Cox has indeed aced the role of Logan Roy. Interestingly, Cox finds a huge resemblance between his character Roy and Trump. Roy, played by Cox, was a narcissistic and egocentric man. Cox said that he doesn’t think that Trump is as interesting as his character Roy, and he will never be intrigued to play Trump’s character if the opportunity arises in the near future.
Seeing Cox’s performance as Roy, it is certain that he would be a perfect fit for any such role. But Cox made it very clear in his statement that if it’s about playing Trump’s character, he is not interested. During an interview, Cox said,
“You know, somebody said, would you ever want to play Donald Trump? And I said, well, no. Because I think it’s such a bad script, the Donald Trump script. But then I look at Donald Trump, and I think, God, he’s so lost. He’s just a lost individual, and he’s so full of shit, and the reason he’s full of shit is that he’s an abused child. He’s really an abused child, Donald Trump. A tragic figure.”
The Manhunter actor further added,
“Even though a lot of these very right-wing individuals are repellant, ironically, from the actor’s point of view, when the actor gets into the skin of these guys, you begin to understand where they’re coming from.”
However, Cox made it very specific that he won’t be playing the role of the former president any time soon, although he will always enjoy playing characters that are politically and morally abominable.

Why did Brian Cox call out Donald Trump?
Brian Cox’s remark about Donald Trump came amid a period when Trump is going through several legal challenges and investigations. Trump has been charged with 34 felony counts of falsifying business records. Ever since this accusation has been levied against him, he is now known as the first former White House resident to face criminal charges.
Passing on playing Trump’s character will hardly affect Cox as he is already at the peak of his career.
