While talking about meeting Ryan Gosling over dinner, and coming across the fact that he is a huge Rambo fan, Stallone mentioned that if he ever passes the baton, Ryan Gosling would be the perfect choice for John Rambo because he loves the character. He said-

“I’ll tell you why. I met him at a dinner, and obviously, we’re opposites, he’s good-looking, I’m not, that’s how it works. No, but seriously, imagine me as Ken like ‘Yeah,’ it doesn’t work, at all. But he goes ‘I’m always fascinated by Rambo.”

He further explained-

“And I used to go to school dressed as Rambo, and people would chase me away, and I still didn’t stop, and I you know, vacationed as Rambo.’ He just kept saying that he had a lot of affiliation with Rambo. And I thought ‘You know, this is interesting, if I ever pass the baton, I’ll pass it onto him because he loves the character. I don’t know if anyone would say ‘he’s too good-looking to play Rambo.”

However, Rambo: Last Blood was released in 2019. There has been no update on the upcoming installment of the Rambo franchise. Rambo: Last Blood failed to make an impact on the box office and as well as critically. The project fell flat on the face and this is one of the biggest reasons for no update on the upcoming chapter from the Rambo franchise.
