She played the role of Naomi Lapaglia, Leonardo DiCaprio’s character’s love interest. The role made her a household name and landed her roles in a lot of big movies. The actress was reportedly insecure initially and worried that the audience wouldn’t like her.
The actress was referred to as the sexiest blonde ever in the script of the movie but she believed that she wasn’t really that good and doubted herself a lot. However, the outcome was quite the opposite, the actress gained millions of fans and went on to star in several other big movies.
Margot Robbie was afraid of playing Naomi in The Wolf of Wall Street
Even today, actress Margot Robbie is well-known for her work in Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street. That was the turning point in her life as the trajectory of her career completely changed and she became a global sensation.

The actress was called the sexiest blonde ever
In the script of the movie, the character played by the Barbie star was referred to as “the sexiest blonde ever,” however, the actress believed that it was an exaggeration. She once told Wonderland magazine,
“I was terrified that people would see the movie and think, ‘Ugh! She’s not good enough. I was very conscious that the script said, ‘The s*eiest blonde ever’. Clearly I’m not the sexiest blonde in history”
Believe it or not, the actress had a hard time playing the role of Naomi Lapaglia in the movie due to her insecurities. The actress also went nude in the movie so obviously, it all would’ve been very overwhelming for her. She agreed to do the nude scenes as she believed that it was necessary to portray Naomi, a woman whose “body is her only form of currency in this world.”
Playboy magazine’s founder, Hugh Hefner, wanted her to work for his magazine after he saw her in the movie
Margot Robbie’s work in the movie also caught the attention of Hugh Hefner, the founder and editor-in-chief of Playboy magazine. The publisher went to watch the movie and instantly wanted the actress to do a photo shoot for his magazine. However, Margot Robbie refused as she thought she had already “put her family through enough.” Turning down Hefner’s offer didn’t really affect her as she went on to become one of the most famous Hollywood stars of all time.
