Looks like ABC is going to war. The production house has made it clear that it will not make it easy for T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach to claw their way back into their much-coveted position. The fight seems to have intensified, with both sides preparing for the possibility of any legal action. It was against this backdrop that all concerned parties decided to come to the table and held mediation talks this week. And it seems like the network will go to any length to keep the duo away from the coveted position, including labeling them alcoholic.

T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach’s affairs attracted ABC’s ire

When the news of T. J. Holmes and Amy Robach dating got out, ABC was not pleased at all. It immediately took the hosts of Good Morning America off-air and has since replaced them with various (and rotating) hosts, which have included the likes of Gio Benitez, DeMarco Morgan, Rhiannon Ally, and Stephanie Ramos.

Rumors of DeMarco Morgan replacing the duo as hosts were running wild. But ABC has set the record straight, clarifying that a replacement won’t be announced until the investigation against the two comes to an end. They know that the couple won’t make it easy for ABC, having lawyered up. That is why the need for negotiations arose.

A not-so- straight forward negotiation won’t be easy

But just the decision of coming to the table doesn’t guarantee that everything will be worked out. The commitment of the parties matter. And ABC’s sole commitment is to show T. J. Holmes and Amy Robach the door. And what better way to do that than questioning the employees’ work ethic? They have already called the 45-year-old out for having sexual affairs with women associated with the network.

As for Robach, they have resorted to questioning her integrity for having alcohol in her dressing room, something which violates ABC policy. They are using that as their central contention to get her to agree to settle and leave the show. But the 49-year-old is not going to let go this easily.

ABC doesn’t have a lot of dirt against Amy Robach

A source close to the negotiations said, “Everything they are bringing up is so minor having to do with Amy.” On the topic of bringing up the alcohol bottles in her room, the source said,

“That’s how ridiculous that has gotten. In media, you get sent bottles [as gifts] and the bottles in her room were sealed. They are using any excuse. Other people in the office also have alcohol, it’s everywhere and it’s unopened.”

It doesn’t end there though. ABC also accused her of showing up to work drunk after the College Football National Championship game. But that was just a case of her being extremely tired. It is expected that when talks wrap up, the two will be out of the door. And it is ABC’s job to ensure that they get the duo to sign.
