Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise Rumored Bitter Rivalry in Hollywood
The Fight Club movie actor is currently involved in several interesting projects. Brad Pitt is undoubtedly a legend in the film industry who has a long list of big films to his name. He has appeared in blockbuster films like Bullet Train, Moneyball, True Romance, Inglourious Basterds, The Big Short, and Thelma & Louise.
According to reports, the actor had a bitter experience working next to none other than Tom Cruise. Pitt and Cruise worked together in the 1994 film adaptation of Anne Rice’s famous novel, Interview with the Vampire. While both actors are exceptionally charming and are growing in their careers, they only worked together in the titular film and never really spoke to each other after that. In a previous interview, Brad Pitt opened up about his experience working alongside the Top Gun movie star in Interview with the Vampire film. The Bullet Train actor said,
“He bugged me. There came a point during filming when I started really resenting him. He’s North Pole, I’m South. He’s always coming at you with a handshake, whereas I may bump into you. There was this underlying competition that got in the way of any real conversation.”
A source told Radar Online,
“Tom was the biggest A-list name of the ’80s and Brad of the ’90s. They’ve traded plenty of barbs in the past, but this could be a real showdown.”
Brad Pitt further revealed,
“I was miserable. Six months in the f**ing dark. Contact lenses, makeup, I’m playing the bi**h role. One day, it broke me… I called David Geffen, who was a producer… I said, David, I can’t do this anymore. I can’t do it. How much will it take to get me out? And he goes, very calmly, Forty million dollars.”
After the titular film was released and became an instant hit, Brad Pitt gave his honest review about working on the project, claiming that he was miserable the entire time and that having Tom Cruise on the set didn’t help either.
Brad Pitt Reveals Why He is Selective About Movie Projects
The Babylon movie actor is super famous worldwide. With his charming personality and staggering work in films, Pitt has won millions of fans who adore and respect the actor. In a rare interview, Brad Pitt stated he is on the “Last Leg” of his acting career.
Talking about the same, the actor told GQ magazine,
“I consider myself on my last leg this last semester or trimester. What is this section going to be? And how do I want to design that? Out here in California, there’s a lot of talk about ‘being your authentic self.’ It would plague me. What does ‘authentic’ mean? For me, it was getting to a place of acknowledging those deep scars that we carry.”
Last year during Locarno’s film festival opening ceremony, Aaron Taylor-Johnson opened up about working next to Brad Pitt in the action/comedy film Bullet Train. Speaking about Pitt, he said,
“He is in a new chapter of his life, I think. He just wants to bring light and joy into the world and be around people who are there to have a good time. You work with many actors and after a while, you start making notes: I am not working with this person ever again. Brad has this list too: the ‘good’ list and the shit list.”
Bullet Train starring, Brad Pitt, Joey King, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry, Andrew Koji, Hiroyuki Sanada, and Michael Shannon is currently streaming on Netflix.
