It was a virtual delight to watch Henry Cavill and Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible-Fallout even though their roles were opposed. It was a remarkable opportunity for Cavill as he not only worked in one of the greatest hit movie franchises but with an A-lister like Tom Cruise which is still a dream for some actors to collaborate with. However, it wasn’t easy to bag the role of a CIA agent for Cavill as he revealed that he had to indulge in a fight with the Knight and Day star. In an interview with 7 News Miami Cavill revealed that:

“We fought, we physically fought. It’s part of the thing; you have to wrestle to the death, and they stopped us just before we killed each other, and they say, ‘OK, cool, yeah, you have the part.’”

Although it wasn’t a real fight, Cavill did an amazing job in the movie by playing the lead antagonist role. The Night Hunter star once felt jealous when he was asked about watching Tom Cruise performing flawless stunts. Cavill shared in an interview with Empire that he wished to be a part of the next Mission: Impossible movie in which he can parachute off a motorbike into a canyon and do more adventurous stuff.

According to director Chad Stalheski, the highly anticipated reboot of Highlander is still in the works and could be the start of a major franchise that began in 1986 with a fantasy film starring Christopher Lambert. As the franchise expanded it generated four films, and since then the reboot of Highlander is in talks. In 2021 Henry Cavill was reportedly claimed to play the immortal Scottish swordsman Connor MacLeod. A few weeks back some insights were shared by the John Wick director on the Happy Sad Confused Podcast:

“I’ll say it for you first, our story engages a lot of the same characters and stuff like that, but we’ve also brought in elements of all the TV shows, and we’re trying to do a bit of a prequel, a set-up to ‘The Gathering’ [a 1992 episode of the series], so we have room to grow the property.”

Stalheski hinted the much-anticipated project could be a prequel as he has some really good elements now and the new film in development will be to launch a potential series of films. The director also claimed that the film will unite elements of the 1992 syndicated Highlander TV series, which ran for six seasons and he sees Highlander as a potential franchise. It would be captivating for fans to watch Cavill slaying the role of immortal Scottish swordsman after he has stepped back from the Netflix series The Witcher which was undoubtedly disappointing for The Witcher‘s enthusiasts.
