While sharing the behind the scene snippets from her song, Shakira revealed how things went wrong during the shoot.
Shakira got startled by a rat while shooting Copa Vacia
Shakira has been in the spotlight for a long time due to her relationship. The singer split up from long-time partner, Gerard Pique and then was linked with many A-list celebrities. There were rumors about the Colombian diva dating Lewis Hamilton. However, there is no confirmation of her romance.
Shakira is recently in the headlines due to her new release song Copa Vacia. The song features fellow Colombian musician Manuel Turizo and came out last month. Shooting the song was a task for her as she had terrible incidents on the set. The Colombian singer-songwriter gave a behind-the-scenes look at her most recent music video, Copa Vacia, which included a rat that approached fairly closely.
The Hips Don’t Lie singer was a mermaid in the video. She wore a mermaid tail on and a pink wig for the entirety of the music video. The singer shared a snippet on her Instagram, where she was seen lying on the floor with her costume. In the mid of the shoot, Shakira was startled by a rat, and she out a piercing yell. She tried to rise from the ground, but her outfit made it impossible. The pop star appeared in the video as a mermaid in a trash-filled swamp.

The Latin superstar responded to the incident with humor as she captioned the video in Spanish that read “Things that happen even to mermaids.” In the end, she added an emoji of a lady shrugging.
Shakira had a near-death experience while filming Copa Vacía
Shakira has consistently produced hits while coming up with inventive music videos. Her most recent song Copa Vaca, with Manuel Turizo, had a magical quality because she played a mermaid. Even though the music video turned out beautifully, the pop star admitted that there was a terrifying accident while shooting the song.
The songwriter revealed the fish tank she was in suddenly collapsed, flooding the entire set. She was trapped in her mermaid tail and unable to get out. The singer said,
“The fish tank broke, the set began to flood, and they had to take me out of there. I couldn’t go out because I had a mermaid tail, and I couldn’t climb out.”
The crew eventually had to take her out with a crane. Despite the disaster, just two weeks after its debut, the song has amassed astounding views on YouTube.
