Popularly known for portraying The Hulk in the MCU, Mark Ruffalo is regarded as one of the most versatile actors who has impressed the audience as well as the critics with his exceptional work over the years. He has appeared in movies including 13 Going 30, Zodiac, Shutter Island, Just Like Heaven, and more.
Mark Ruffalo recently appeared in Yorgos Lanthimos’ Poor Things, opposite Emma Stone as Duncan Wedderburn. Mark Ruffalo stars in Cooper Raiff’s passion project along with Lili Reinhart
According to reports by Deadline, Marvel star Mark Ruffalo is all set to star in Cha Cha Real Smooth filmmaker and actor Cooper Raiff’s upcoming comedy-drama Hal & Harper. Reports suggest that the project is Raiff’s passion project, on which he has been working for years, and it follows the story of a single father of two kids who is making his kids grow up too fast.
Deadline reported that Raiff and Riverdale star Lili Reinhart are believed to be playing siblings on the show. Raiff is not only writing the show but also serves as the producer alongside his producing partner Clementine Quittner through Small Ideas Company. The series received an interim agreement with SAG-AFTRA so that the actors could work on the show without violating the union.
Back in 2020, the filmmaker-actor spoke to Screen Daily about his upcoming show and shared,
I have this TB show that I’ve been writing for a long time now called Hal & Harper. I’m going to try to show it to people. I’ve also been trying to write this screenplay that I want to get Abby Quinn and Eva Victor to act in. I really want to work with them, and I think they’d have a lot of chemistry on screen.
Raiff’s Cha Cha Real Smooth, starring Dakota Johnson, premiered at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival and won the Audience Award for the Dramatic Competition. His feature debut, Shithouse, also won Best Narrative Feature at the 2020 SXSW, which is a romantic comedy about a homesick college freshman. The filmmaker described the movie as
It’s a movie that wants to hug you, and I’m feeling so grateful that the jury leaned into the hug. I’m also just so grateful that Janet Pierson and SXSW team members gave Shithouse such an amazing home.
The movie received positive responses from critics and the audience upon its release.

I had high hopes for Cooper Raif after Shithouse (2020). But dude is hell bent on making early 2000s Sundance movies and nothing else.

An X user mentioned, ‘Cooper Raiff is going to be the next big thing. Shithouse was a great debut, and then his follow-up movie, Cha Cha Real Smooth, was 5/5 from me. I can’t wait to see how he handles a show.’
