From the trailer of Despicable Me 4, it is evident that a new member has been introduced into Gru’s family. During an interview with Late Night With Seth Meyers in 2022, Steve Carell spoke about the character of Gru and how he went on to change his voice for the protagonist in Minions: The Rise Of Gru. While talking about the difference between the two versions of Gru, he said-

“Little Gru is just more earnest and higher. I think anyone can do Gru. I really — I shouldn’t say that, ’cause I’ll be out of a job. Because they could probably get it.”

The actor believes the Minions are one of the most important aspects with respect to the popularity of the franchise. Steve Carell has reprised the character of Gru in every installment of Despicable Me. 

Despicable Me 4 is set to hit the theatres on July 3, 2024.
