The movie not only sees Deadpool and Wolverine team up but also Hugh Jackman returns to play the fan-favorite character after seven years. The studios decided to retain the R-rating of the movie from previous movies, thus making the upcoming movie the first Marvel movie to be rated R. One of the most anticipated movies of 2024, Deadpool & Wolverine, is finally going to premiere for the audience to witness the chemistry between Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman on-screen. The movie is reportedly not only expected to change the history of the MCU but also revive the superhero and multiverse fatigue in the MCU.
However, after the premiere at the David H. Koch Theatre in New York City on July 22, 2024, where a couple of critics have expressed that the movie has managed to do what it tends to promise, some have mentioned that it does not deliver as expected. Metacritic gave Deadpool & Wolverine a score of 54, which is lower than DC’s box office bomb The Flash, starring Ezra Miller. The Flash holds a score of 55 at Metacritic.
DC Studios expected a lot more from its 2023 release, The Flash, directed by Andy Muschietti. The audience saw Barry Allen traveling back in time to prevent his mother’s death but becoming stranded in the alternate past. It was criticized for visual effects, and the third act was thus declared the box office killer.
The audience ratings for Deadpool & Wolverine are still pending, which, according to fans online, would be very different from critics’ ratings. Hugh Jackman, who is excited to return as Wolverine according to the publication, seemed to struggle with the comic timing, especially because that isn’t his forte. Despite all the mixed reviews that the movie has received, the actual result is decided by the audience, and fans are pretty pumped up to watch Reynolds and Jackman on-screen.

A lot of fans seemed to have mentioned that at the end of the day, what matters is how the audience finds the movie. Ryan Reynolds has once again confirmed that there is no Taylor Swift cameo in the movie as fans are expecting. He said (via E! News),
I will say once and for all that the cameo thing with Taylor is because she’s our friend—that is not in this film. I always do say that if anyone ever were to take over the role of Deadpool, actually Taylor Swift would be very good. Because that’s a superpower I don’t know that she knows everyone too often. She’s one of the funniest people I’ve ever met.
So it seems like there would be no cameos from the Anti-Hero singer, but the cast of the movie had mentioned some exciting cameos are on the way.
