According to Steven Yeun, the gap between the episodes would not be as long as the second season of Invincible. During an interview with Collider in July 2023, Robert Kirkman addressed why the second season of Invincible could not be developed within a proper time frame. He said-

We debuted in 2021, and when we got the pick up for Season 2 and 3, we had to kind of figure [it] out. We finished the show as COVID was starting, Season 1, and so we had to figure out completely new processes to work with all the restrictions that came from that. Animation studios were shut down quite a bit during COVID because animators work in a lot of cases in large rooms and in giant groups. So we had to figure out a whole new way of working and that slowed things down quite a bit.

However, fans would not have to wait for a longer period for the third season of Invincible.

“Well, I wouldn’t want to reveal [what exactly would be different], per se, but I think that there’s a lot of different things that you can accomplish in live-action,” he said. “There’s a lot of different [audiences] that you can reach that you can’t reach in animation, unfortunately.

Kirkman believes that the experience of watching the comic version and the live-action adaptation of Invincible may not necessarily be similar. He said-

And I just think that there’s, I don’t know, there’s a different feel from the story that you’ll get in live-action that you may not necessarily get in animation, and they’re also two completely different things. I like the idea of, the comic is one thing, the Invincible series is one thing, and the Invincible live-action [film] will be a completely different thing.”

The plot of Invincible revolves around a teenage boy named Mark Grayson and his transformation into a superhero. Invincible Season 2, Part 2 is scheduled to premiere on March 14, 2024 on Prime.
