While there have been talks about Dune Part 2‘s IMAX screening. On the other hand, the past few weeks have been packed where we got to see many Hollywood blockbusters starting from Fast X to Tom Cruise‘s Mission Impossible 7 and also Christopher Nolan‘s Oppenheimer too.

Movies starring Cruise and Cillian Murphy had an overall gap of only one week whereas the first released MI 7 only could run in IMAX theatres for a week and right after the release of the Oppenheimer, the movie occupied IMAX screening for the next 3 weeks post its release.

While talking about the new Dune movie extended airing, the IMAX CEO also shared his penitence for not being able to accommodate the IMAX screening for MI 7 after the release of Oppenheimer.

“I feel sad in a way we can’t accommodate all of them. I know ‘Mission: Impossible’ is going to be a really big movie,”

“Nolan has a special place in Imax’s heart because he uses our cameras and promotes us. It’s not a matter of us saying which we can make more money on. I would hope after ‘Oppenheimer’s’ run, we can bring back ‘Mission.’”

IMAX’s CEO shared Universal productions got an “agreement” for Oppenheimer where the movie occupied IMAX screens for three full weeks. He also shared how Nolan has been more like an ambassador for IMAX where he used their cameras and got an exclusive window for the movie.

It looks like Cruise’s MI 7 has failed to make any such agreement and get an exclusive IMAX window for the movie. The lead star shared his concern over the ongoing IMAX situation and now he is in talks with the Executive producers and IMAX executives to find a solution by airing the movie again in IMAX.
