Actress Heather Locklear was on a panel at the ‘90s Con Florida at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach, where she was asked about auditioning with Tom Cruise for the same movie. According to People’s report, the actress said that they did an audition for a film together, and she was like, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m terrible‘.
The actress said jokingly, ‘He’s even worse.’ Neither of them got the part they auditioned for. Talking further about her interaction with Cruise, Locklear said,
So at that time, he was just like this little baby boy that I feel like I was a little bit older, and he ended up coming over to my house with Sean Penn. And they were just nice, but he was very, ‘yes ma’am’ to me, and I was like, ‘Okay, sir.’
Locklear further continued that even though Tom Cruise at the time didn’t match her style, she decided to go on a date with him anyway. She mentioned they went out dancing to Club Lingerie at the time and described Cruise as cute. The actress’ honest confession about going on a date with Tom Cruise was,

The actress described that she was probably the first person to watch Cruise’s dance moves, which the audience witnessed in Risky Business. She added that he did that before the movie, and she was dancing along with him. Locklear recalled that Tom Cruise was very nice to her.
