Jada Pinkett Smith and her connection with the late rapper Tupac Shakur has intrigued her fans even decades after his tragic death. According to the actor, they shared a very organic bond and never needed to give a tag to the bond they shared. During an interview on The Howard Stern Show in 2015, Jada opened up about her bond with Tupac Shakur. She had met him at Maryland’s Baltimore School for the Arts. According to her, He was a magnet and became one of her close friends. She said-

“It was the first day and he came over to me and introduced himself. And in high school, Pac was a little funny-looking. Definitely from looking at him, wasn’t necessarily the type of cat that I would even, like, deal with.”

She further explained-

“You know, it’s so funny because now being older, I have more of an understanding of what that was between us. When you have two young people that have very strong feelings, but there was no physical chemistry between us at all, and it wasn’t even just for me — it was him too,”

The actor even clarified-

“There was a time when I was like, ‘Just kiss me! Let’s just see how this goes,’ and when I tell you it had to be the most disgusting kiss for us both.”

Jada Pinkett Smith even mentioned that their friendship took a different turn after she had joined Hollywood. She mentioned-

“He felt as though I had changed. I’d gone Hollywood. I’d gone soft. And looking back now, I totally understand where Pac was at the time. It was a mentality he started to come out of before he was murdered.”

Recently the Collateral actor posted a clip on Instagram on the 27th death anniversary of Tupac Shakur. The clip was captioned as

“Not in a million years would I have dreamed that the Fresh Prince and I would become, um, very acquainted,” she captioned the video, referring to her husband’s rap name. “Not in a million years did I imagine three lives, their fates, would be so intertwined.”

The post further mentioned-

“And… I never would have imagined that this video would become a tangible memory, of the last time Pac and I, were simply kids together. Pac and I lip-synced Parents Just Don’t Understand by Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince during our Junior year in high school. Who would have thought?”

Over the years, the close relationship between Jada Pinkett Smith and Tupac Shakur has only given birth to speculations about their bond. Neither Tupac nor Jada has confirmed the existence of their relationship.

Jada Pinkett Smith Called Tupac Shakur Her Soulmate

Jada Pinkett Smith has been married to Will Smith for over two decades and shares three kids. During an interview with the media outlet Rolling Out, the Girls Trip actor referred to late rapper Tupac Shakur as her soulmate. She said-

“If there is such a thing as past lives, I definitely think Pac and I have traveled a few together. You know, in various forms. There was no chemistry between us. I talk about it in the book, you know. … It’s that friendship-love chemistry, trust me.”

She even recalled the first time she met Tupac Shakur, she further added-

“It was the first day and he came over to me and introduced himself. And in high school, Pac was a little funny-looking. Definitely from looking at him, wasn’t necessarily the type of cat that I would even like, deal with.”

According to Jada Pinkett Smith, Tupac Shakur was a magnet. She revealed-

“But as soon as he approached me, he was like a magnet. Once you paid attention to him he kind of sucked you in. And we hit it off from that moment on … I don’t think either one of us thought we would have made it in the way that we did, but we knew we were gonna do something.”

Jada Pinkett Smith and Tupac Shakur were great friends and their close friendship has intrigued people over the years. The American rapper was fatally shot and killed in September 1996 while he was riding in Las Vegas along with Marion Knight, Death Row Records co-founder in a car.

Jada Pinkett Smith’s biography Worthy will be out on the shelves on October 17, 2023.
