Actor Johnny Depp who won the publicized defamation lawsuit against Amber Heard this year is now moving on to pursue his dreams which were once halted due to the latter’s claims. The actor is recently making headlines for dating his former attorney in the 2018 UK libel case and is slowly but surely progressing in his professional life as well.
On the other hand, the Aquaman actress is having trouble getting any projects ever since many reports have exposed her dark past. Now that things are aligning at a slow pace, Depp was once in suspicion after two of his former bodyguards accused him of the alleged abuse.
Johnny Depp Allegedly Abused His Former Bodyguards
Back in 2018, Dead Man actor Johnny Depp was sued by two former bodyguards, Eugene Arreola and Miguel Sanchez, who claimed that the actor took advantage of them and placed them in dangerous work environments. The pair demanded unpaid overtime wages, meals, as well as damages.
The plaintiffs claimed that they were associated with the actor since early 2016. Adding that once they became members of his in-house security team, the Donnie Brasco actor started assigning them more than just bodyguard duties under compromising situations.
The suit alleged that the duo would “find themselves in situations that required more than what a bodyguard would be expected to do.”
They allegedly accused the 59-year-old actor of “forcing” them into transporting illegal goods and substances. The former bodyguards of the actor “weren’t paid overtime and didn’t receive off-duty meal or rest breaks.”
According to a Twitter user, “Plaintiffs were constantly used as drivers, driving back and forth at Depp’s or his family’s beckoning.” Not only that but they were also required to “drive vehicles that contained illegal substances, open containers, and minors.”
The men claimed that their duties also included driving vehicles with illegal drugs and open alcohol containers inside, babysitting the kids, and protecting the actor from himself due to his wild behavior. It was also claimed that he had abused some of his security guards.

The former couple of Heard and Depp was involved in a defamation lawsuit which concluded with the latter winning the trial.
It all began in 2018 when the 36-year-old actress wrote an op-ed in The Washington Post claiming herself to be a “public figure representing domestic abuse”.
Though she didn’t mention the actor by his name, the actor was majorly affected by her statement. During the same year, he was also involved in a UK libel case suing a British tabloid for their headline calling him a “wife beater” solely based on Heard’s claims.
Depp after paying a heavy price for his former wife’s claims filed a defamation lawsuit against her demanding $50 million for ruining his reputation. The Aquaman star countersued him for $100 million. The verdict favored Depp with the court awarding him $10.35m in damages while Heard was awarded $2m for her counter-claims.
According to recent reports, the Pirates of the Caribbean star is now dating Joelle Rich. The attorney has been there for him in his difficult times. According to the sources, she was present at the Virginia courthouse where the star and Heard’s defamation case was being held.
