Unlike many Hollywood duos, the pair never hid their struggles and challenges and openly discussed their relationship dynamics and how they navigate through times. However, despite leading an endearing marital life, Pinkett came out with a shocking revelation to the world that she and Smith had been living separately for the past 7 years.

Jada Pinkett and Will Smith were exhausted from being in partnership

In the interview, Pinkett, who hid the news of their separation, explains that they were struggling to figure out how to be in a partnership and weren’t ready to share the news with the public.

“I think it’s just a matter of not being ready yet. Still trying to figure out between the two of us how to be in a partnership, and in regard to how we present that to people, you know? And we hadn’t figured that out.”

Pinkett further explains that by 2016, they “were just exhausted from trying and were struck by the world of fantasy”, where they had certain ideas and expectations about each other that should be in their relationship, which probably didn’t align with their reality.
