During the late 1980s, Winona Ryder and Johnny Depp were one of Hollywood’s favorite couples. The ex-couple even did a movie together, Edward Scissorhands in 1990. They were madly in love and even wanted to get married, but things did not happen according to their plans. During an interview with media outlet Cinema.com, the Black Swan actor mentioned-
“I plan on it. I’m very much traditional that way. I’d like to think it’s just going to happen once. I’m a hopeless romantic. I was literally born wanting to get married. And I’m keen to have children. When I do it, I’d like to take a lot of time off. All I will say is that I love being with children. It’s so exciting when your friends start having babies. I love being around them.”
Johnny Depp even got himself a tattoo on his hand that mentioned – Winona Forever. The Stranger Things actor revealed in a joint interview with her father Michael Horowitz, about the actual reason behind not getting married to Johnny Depp. During an interview with the Mirror, the actor confessed in between a conversation with her father-
“But you stopped a wedding,” Michael Horowitz mentioned- “We loved Johnny but you were 17.”

Winona Ryder Defended Ex-Boyfriend Johnny Depp In The Defamation Case
During the much-hyped defamation trial of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, The Tourist actor was supported by his fans and even his exes came forward and stood by him. Actor Winona Ryder, one of the famous exes of Johnny Depp went on to say that he was never abusive towards her. During an interview with Time magazine, the Beetlejuice actor revealed
“I can only speak from my own experience, which was wildly different than what is being said. He was never, never that way towards me. Never abusive at all toward me. I only know him as a really good, loving, caring guy who is very, very protective of the people that he loves.”
The Edward Scissorhands co-stars dated each other for four years from 1990 to 1994. During an interview with Elle, Winona Ryder spoke about breaking up with Johnny Depp and said-
“I had just done Dracula and Edward Scissorhands. I had just had my first real break-up, the first heartbreak. And I think it was really ironic because, like, everybody else just thought I had everything in the world… [and] I had no reason to be depressed. Everything was sort of at its peak, but inside I was completely lost.”
During an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Johnny Depp spoke about one of the few reasons for his breakup with Winona Ryder and mentioned that the biggest mistake the duo committed which in turn ruined their relationship was being way too open about it.
