Johnny Depp Was ‘cleaned up and transformed’
Before his recent magnificent performance at the 76th Cannes Film Festival, Johnny Depp enjoyed a special pampering session. Before attending the opening of his newest film, Jeanne du Barry, the infamously filthy actor apparently underwent a significant makeover.
Several days after the French movie had its world premiere in Cannes, France, a festival insider told Page Six “he was cleaned up.” A group of highly compensated professionals is said to have taken care of him in a suite at the JW Marriott on La Croisette, where rates start at $1,000 per night.
Depp’s fashionable transition was greatly aided by veteran stylist Samantha McMillen, who also made sure he looked his best the entire week. McMillen also collaborates with celebrities like Elle Fanning and Brie Larson.
While some fans were thrilled to see the actor back on the red carpet, others found him repulsive, especially because of his brown, “rotting” teeth.
On Twitter, some fans expressed their disgust with Depp’s teeth, calling them “disgusting” and “ruining my mood“.
Others joked that the actor looked like he had “eaten a bag of charcoal.”
Despite the criticism for his discolored teeth, Depp received a seven-minute standing ovation for his movie at the Cannes film festival.
Johnny Depp Once Boasted About Having ‘rotten’ Teeth
Depp acknowledged battling with drug and alcohol addiction in 2018, and since then, people have been speculating about his teeth. Some have suggested that his poor oral health is a result of his substance misuse.
With his “rotting teeth” at the center of debate among fans, the Pirates of the Caribbean star recently made an appearance at the Cannes Film Festival. Depp has maintained his defiance despite the harsh response to his teeth. He recently stated in an interview that he is “comfortable in his own skin” and “not ashamed” of how he looks.
He claimed, “I’ve got loads of cavities,” in an interview with Premiere magazine from 1995. “I still have an unfinished root canal from eight years ago. It resembles a nasty tiny stub.”
The actor insisted he “liked” his imperfect smile. He remarked, “I’m proud of these,” adding, “It’s like when the Indians would make something beaded, they would always put defects on it.”
Then, at the age of 31, the Hollywood hunk said that having “perfect teeth” would drive him crazy and added, “I’d rather swallow a tick than have that!”
Up next, Depp will make his directing debut with Modi, a biopic starring Al Pacino about the Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani.
