Brett Ratner, who directed the first three films, is reportedly ready to take another shot as a potential director and producer. His involvement is causing drama due to several s*xual misconduct allegations that have kept him out of Hollywood for a while. This has left fans and studios questioning what’s next for the beloved series.

Rush Hour 4 is being pitched to different movie studios to find the right one to make it. Warner Bros., who used to handle the Rush Hour films through their New Line Cinema division, decided to let the rights go to someone else.

This was a bit of a shock since the films made Warner Bros. a lot of money. Lionsgate was hoping to get the next one, but now Eagle Pictures has the rights. Arthur Sarkissian, who produced the first ones, will be producing again with Eagle Pictures. Looks like the rush to make this film is on!

The project looks promising, but there’s a big problem because Brett Ratner, has faced serious allegations of s*xual misconduct. This is why major studios, like Paramount and Sony, have decided not to get involved.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ratner’s allegations, which came out in 2017, involve claims of s*xual misconduct from several women. This makes studios nervous about the new Rush Hour film because having him involved might lead to a lot of bad press.

Although the 55-year-old has denied the allegations and no formal charges were filed, his reputation is still a bit of a hot mess. Studios are trying to figure out if the potential money from a new Rush Hour movie is worth the risk of dealing with Ratner’s drama.

Despite everything, Rush Hour 4 is still a big deal in Hollywood. The nostalgia and past box office success make it a highly sought-after property for studios eager to tap into familiar hits.

Even though recent movies like Lionsgate’s Borderlands and Universal’s The Fall Guy didn’t perform well, the success of Bad Boys 4 shows that people still go crazy for old favorites. Studios are becoming more open to sharing their popular franchises, even if it means handling some tricky issues.

Similarly, Rush Hour 4 could be a hit for any studio brave enough to tackle it, despite the messy stuff around Ratner. With a great cast and an already hooked fan base, it could be a money-making venture!

Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan are being stated as possible stars for the new Rush Hour film, but nothing is confirmed. Both actors have recently expressed interest in returning, but as of now, it’s all just talk.

Rush Hour films are available to watch on Netflix and Prime Video.
