American standup comedian Amy Schumer has always been revolving around controversies in fact she made her career out of it. In a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter involving Television’s funniest women from the industry including Tracee Ellis Ross, Quinta Brunson, Selena Gomez, Amy Schumer, Bridget Everett, and Molly Shannon, they talked about various topics on the comedy table.

During the conversation, the actresses were asked about the way that may be “pushing to make your character or other characters more fully realized in that way?” To that, Brunson shared how being a writer helped her to make her “female characters completely fleshed out.” while adding that she struggles during the male character’s part. To this, Schumer agreed and shared, “I write them as just like, “Duhhhh.” So, the women are fully thought-out human beings, and the guys I have to …”

That conversation continued while Brunson added how her ‘room‘ being filled with ‘black women’ helps her in making ‘very fleshed-out leads.’ To this, Schumer replied, “I love what you do with Janelle James’ character because it’s just how you’d think a male character would be written, but it’s like, “Hey, we’re dirtbags, too.”

Brunson commented on the same,To me, that is equality,” while Schumer said, “Yeah, being a piece of sh*t.” However, her representation of men being ‘piece of sh*t’ is her own opinion and doesn’t really represent the female collective.

Though, Schumer is popular in the industry but not many people like her approach to taking things. Internet is not at all happy with her statements.

During the Oscars controversy when Will Smith slapped comedian Chris Rock on stage back in March 2022, she offended people especially in the black community, when she said she was “triggered” after seeing the infamous slap. Though, the Internet including Wayne Brady (who blasted the comedian on a Tik Tok live stream), went against her sharing that she was self-centered and racist in a way because it was a white woman making a dispute about two black men about herself.
