Sylvester Stallone Challenges Pope Francis for Boxing

The recent meeting between Sylvester Stallone and Pope Francis was everyone awe-struck as it was nothing but full of light-hearted conversation. Stallone is indeed one of the celebrities to have regular catch-ups with Pope Francis and this time he was at the Pope’s doorstep with his entire family.

The 77-year-old actor along with his wife, Jennifer Flavin, brother, and three daughters was seen meeting with the Pope. This meeting was approached with the confidence and enthusiasm of the two people to know each other.  As per the reports throughout the meeting, there has been a lot of joking and good humor.

As per the video shared by Vatican News, Stallone approached the pope and said “Well, thank you very much for taking time from your busy day. We appreciate this very much.” Responding to him the Pope made a little joke by saying “I am honored. “We grew up with your films.” Keeping up with the spirit Stallone replied before raising his fists and air-pumping, “Ready? We box.”

The Pope added to the joke with a fake jab, clearly catching everyone by surprise. The group later assembled for a photo, also shared on Vatican News.

Sylvester Stallone Receives the Citizenship of Gioi del Colle

Following his meeting with Pope Francis, Sylvester Stallone along with his family was also seen in the Vatican Museum on September 8 where he received the citizenship of Gioi del Colle. Both the Stallone brothers were awarded this honorary citizenship because of their old ties to the town.

It was Stallone’s father who was born in the city before immigrating to the United States in the 1930s. Considering his relationship with the city the actor was also seen visiting his paternal grandfather’s home and greeted residents of the town.

Being raised as a devoted catholic Stallone is said to have a very close connection with the city which he cherished during his visit.
