When Joss Whedon Broke Samuel L. Jackson’s One Rule For Nick Fury
MCU: The Reign of Marvel Studios co-Authors Gavin Edwards, Joanna Robinson, and Dave Gonzales have mentioned that Samuel L. Jackson’s only condition was broken by one of the most disciplined directors in Hollywood, Joss Whedon. According to the extract, the only condition the American actor had kept in front of Joss Whedon was that he did not want to run. The book states-
“When Whedon had consulted with Jackson before writing the screenplay, the then-sixty-two-year-old actor had made only one request about Nick Fury: he didn’t want to run. But now he pulled out his script and pointed to a stage direction where Fury ran onto the deck of the Helicarrier with a rocket launcher.”
Joss Whedon assured him-
‘What’s this say here? It says I run!’ ‘Just that once. You only run once.'”
The veteran actor called the reputed filmmaker a motherf****r after he broke the rule.
