While Fans Fuel Andrew Garfield vs. Tom Hardy Rumor, Devastating Venom 3 Update Could Ruin Their Day
Tom Hardy is undoubtedly one of the most popular actors in Hollywood. In his career spanning approximately 25 years, he has starred in numerous blockbusters. Having made his film debut in Ridley Scott’s 2001 movie Black Hawk Down, Hardy has now starred with some of the best directors in the industry such as Christopher Nolan and George Miller.
The superhero genre is one that the audience is always going to love. No matter what ethnicity or age group one belongs to, one certainly cannot help but love watching superheroes flying or hopping from one end of the screen to another. Considering nearly every single good actor in Hollywood is now in a superhero movie, Tom Hardy also being in one does not come as a surprise. However, owing to various reasons, Hardy’s Venom 3‘s release date has been pushed further away.
Tom Hardy’s Venom 3 Has Received a Disappointing Update
Tom Hardy was cast as the title comic book hero Eddie Brock and the symbiote Venom in the 2018 movie Venom. The Mad Max: Fury Road star had signed for three Venom movies. With the first and second movies already having created a significant amount of buzz, fans are eagerly waiting to see what the third one has in store for them.
Although the third movie, still untitled, was set to have a summer release, it has now been pushed back to November 8, 2024 (via X, formerly Twitter). This release has lengthened the fans’ wait to see Eddie Brock back on the screen along with his symbiote friend Venom.
The third installment of the Venom series was actually scheduled to be released on July 12, 2024. The details of the plot are still kept under tight wraps. Kelly Marcel is the director of the upcoming movie. She has written and produced the first two installments. Tom Hardy has worked on the story with Marcel and they are producing the movie alongside Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, and Hutch Parker.
Tom Hardy’s Venom 3 Might Have Something To Do with Spider-Man
Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock from the Venom universe was last seen in a credits sequence in Spider-Man: No Way Home. This led to fans speculating that Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man might go against Tom Hardy’s Venom. However, with both of the actors remaining tight-lipped about it, it remains uncertain which of Sony’s Universe of Marvel Characters will show up in Venom 3.
Even so, Hardy did not completely dismiss the idea of a crossover between the two universes. When it was brought up during an interview with Esquire, he said:
“I would be remiss if I wasn’t trying to steer any kind of connectivity. I wouldn’t be doing the job if I wasn’t awake and open to any opportunity or eventuality or be excited by that. Obviously, that’s a large canyon to leap, to be bridged by one person alone, and it would take a much higher level of diplomacy and intelligence, sitting down and talking, to take on an arena such as that.
The Revenant star went on to say that if both sides were willing and would benefit from the crossover, then he would do whatever he could to make Venom and Spider-Man come together in a project.
