Who is Salma Hayek’s Husband- How Did She Marry a Billionaire French Businessman?
Salma Hayek and Francois-Henri Pinault is a romance envied by many. The couple have been happily married for seventeen years. And the industry they are part of is a high mountain to conquer. A union of the opposite with Hayek originally from Mexico and Pinault coming from a line of French businessmen, their very culture and upbringing make them polar opposites. Despite their dazzling red carpet appearances, the couple has been notoriously private about the details of their love story. One wonders how one of the sexiest women on the planet and a business tycoon of a billion-dollar empire meet let alone fall in love. When asked about it, Hayek refrained from revealing the couple’s meet-cute.
“It’s such a romantic, amazing story, but it is mine,” she said in an interview in 2019. “I don’t want to vulgarize it by making it into a story to make myself interesting.”
Even though there was no recount of their first meeting, they are believed to have met in early 2006 at a gala that was thrown at Pinault’s estate. And started dating not much later. However. Hayek did not consider the Kering CEO “her type.” But the Academy Award winner soon at her own words when she actually got to know him.

Mentioning the rollercoaster ride of going from not having to do anything with Pinault to finding him her perfect match, Hayek gushed over the man of her dreams:
In the beginning, I was stereotyping him as this is not my kind of guy at all and I remember when I started saying Oh my God there’s something here. And it is so silly we started talking about football, we’re both crazy about soccer and then we talked about science… we love space and physics and he was so smart and charming and funny and nobody talked to me about those things before… they’re not part of a typical conversation. and then I realized that the person who looked so far away from me was my perfect match.
Hayek was impressed by how respectful Pinault was of women. She describes it as a big factor that made her husband attractive to him in their early days as a couple.
He is very masculine but in his head, he is a feminist, so he really roots for women..that is hot.
The couple got engaged within a year of their relationship. They initially got married in a courthouse followed by a vow renewal ceremony in Venice. Hayek has said that she had a phobia around marriage and even though she wanted to be with Pinault, she didn’t want to be married but her family’s support made her do it.
“It was like an intervention. I don’t think I ever told this story. They just took me to the court. My parents, my brother, they were all ganging up on me. I had a phobia of the marriage thing.”
Looking at the couple being happily married, it is safe to say that Hayek is beyond glad that they did.

Soon after their engagement announcement, Hayek announced that the couple were expecting. During that period, reports had emerged that the power couple had separated ways but there didn’t seem any truth to it as they eventually got married. They welcomed their daughter Valentina Henri Pinault in 2007.
Pinault who owns all major fashion brands along with various other businesses he has, has two children from his previous marriage and one from an affair. This usually becomes a point of contention at some point in many marriages but Hayek revealed that she loves being a step-mom.
When asked about the secret of her happy marriage, Hayek gave some helpful insight saying:
Whenever there’s a little challenge or when somebody messes up we never examine who to blame we completely focus on how to solve the problem.
