Kitty Green wants to make a trilogy with Julia Garner

Emmy award-winning actress recently starred in the Australian psychological thriller, The Royal Hotel, directed by Kitty Green. The actress starred alongside Jessica Henwick, Toby Wallace, and Hugo Weaving. The movie is said to be inspired by a documentary named Hotel Coolgardie by Pete Gleeson that came out in 2016.

Filmmaker who has worked with the actress in 2019’s The Assistant said in an interview with THR, said,

“Julia and I would love to do a third one. But I also don’t want it to feel too same-samey. If we do something else together, I really feel like we should shake I up a little bit. So while we’d love to keep working together and I definitely will be, there are things I’m thematically drawn to that naturally link together. So I’m sure there’ll be some connection, but for the next one, I’d still like to blow it up a little bit.”

For her interview with W Magazine, the actress was asked if she feels liberated while playing crazy characters on-screen who are not shy to which she said,

“I do, but I also think that they are shy in their own way, in the sense where they are not really exposing who they actually are. Only the audience can see who they actually are.”

Julia Garner mentioned that she loved working with Kitty Green and when she gave her the script that was it for her. She says it has been a joy working with her on the movie.
