In a recent interview alongside his beloved Barbie co-star Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling talked about his first job and the task he was assigned. When the Blade Runner star revealed it was to hand over Teddy Bears at his uncle’s Elvis impersonating act, Robbie couldn’t believe that her co-star didn’t get the chance to sing, leaving her disappointed.

In an interview with W Magazine, acclaimed actor Ryan Gosling and Hollywood’s most versatile actress Margot Robbie opened up about various aspects of their lives, of which one was about their first job. When asked to disclose his initial work before transforming into a successful actor, Gosling replied:

“My uncle’s Elvis impersonating act. My job was to hand out teddy bears during Teddy Bear… just give the teddy bears. Fascinating, huh?”

After hearing Gosing’s response, Robbie could stop asking if The Notebook star didn’t sing there. She asked:

“You didn’t sing? When I’ve heard you talk about this before, I always assumed you were like singing and dancing.”

Ryan Gosling then humorously apologizes to his co-star by saying “Sorry to further disappoint you” during the lighthearted moment during the interview. The outlet further asked Robbie to open up about her first job and she revealed that it was unpaid work in the background of a Hooters commercial, and the Bombshell star ended up getting a job there.

In Greta Gerwig‘s Barbie, Ken has a humorous but thoughtful personality. When asked about Ryan Gosling’s first impression of Ken’s part in the film, he said:

“It was the title page of the script, which said “Barbie and Ken,” but “and Ken” was scratched out. The next impression was, this is the hardest part I’ll ever play. “

The Notebook star mentioned being intrigued but a little doubtful about playing Ken. Since there are “no books written about Ken” Ryan Gosling found it hard to think about the crotchless doll.
