Charlie Sheen said he’s tired of pretending that he is not special

CBS’ Two and a Half Men, starring Charlie Sheen, Jon Cryer, and Angus T. Jones, was known to be the third highest revenue-generating shows. However, Sheen’s contract was terminated in March 2011 after he bad-mouthed the creator of the show, Chuck Lorre, in an interview with Alex Jones. He was replaced by Ashton Kutcher.

Sheen continued to criticize the creator and was eventually written off the show. Apart from being known as a great actor, Charlie Sheen is also known for giving a string of bizarre interviews. In an interview with NBC’s Jeff Rossen, Sheen said (via The Guardian),

I’m tired of pretending like I’m not special. I’m tired of pretending like I’m not bitching, a total fricking rock star from Mars, and people can’t figure me out; they can’t process me. I don’t expect them to. You cannot process me with a normal brain.

Charlie Sheen in 2011, during an interview with ABC News, mentioned that he had cured himself of substance abuse. He added that he closed his eyes and made it happen with the power of his mind. In an interview with CBS, the actor noted,

I am on drugs; it’s called Charlie Sheen. It’s not available because if you try it once, you will die. Your face will melt off, and your children will weep over your exploded body.

Sheen was asked about his tendency for spending a lot of money, to which he mentioned the studio should be blamed. He added that they knew who they were giving the money to. Back in 2011, the actor who has struggled with substance abuse shared that he’s taken more drugs than any individual could, without dying. He added via ABC,

A couple of days before the suits rolled in and said change it. I probably took more than anybody could survive. I was banging seven-gram rocks. Because that’s how I roll. I have one speed. I have on gear: Go. I got tiger blood, man.

Talking about his crazy statements, Sheen had demanded $3 million an episode when asked if he’d reprise his character on Two and a Half Men. He also decided to fire longtime publicist Stan Rosenfield just a few moments after he had quit. Rosenfield shared via THR that he was unable to work with the actor, which is why he had decided to quit. But Sheen shared with TMZ that ‘he’s not allowed to quit, so he’s fired’.

Charlie Sheen wanted to leave Two and a Half Men before he was fired

In an interview with Deadline, Charlie Sheen shared that he was on call with his manager and one of the agents after they filmed season 7 of Two and a Half Men. The actor told them that he feels he might have reached his limit. Sheen revealed that his manager and the agent told him that there was a lot of the story to tell, which he converted into him being a moneymaker for them. He said,

It’s a lot of money. And I said, I don’t know guys. My gut is screaming that if I go back, it’s going to go wrong. I actually said that, and they were like, well, I can also go perfectly fabulous. I’m like, yeah, but that’s not the message I’m getting from my gut. So did I manifest that, or did I just get a signal from the future? Maybe it was time. So, do you bow out? No! We cut the new deal, and everybody was happy, and then everything went horribly.
