English actor Will Poulter gained recognition for his performance as Lee Carter in the 2007 comedy movie Son of Rambow. Acting became his go-to when he realized that no amount of trying could help him get better at academics due to his dyslexia and developmental coordination disorder.

Will Poulter starred in several different projects before he dropped out of his drama course at the University of Bristol in 2013 when he was cast as Gally in the 2014 movie The Maze Runner, alongside Dylan O’Brien and Kaya Scodelario. He appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 alongside Dave Bautista and recounted what it was like to shoot the fight scenes with the actor.

Dave Bautista played the role of Drax the Destroyer and he had a fight scene with Poulter’s character Adam Warlock. While speaking to Greg James on BBC Radio 1, the Midsommar actor said:

“Such a lovely man. And doing a fight sequence with Dave Bautista is… I don’t know… your inner child is just freaking out. And you don’t really know what’s going on. And he’s purple and you’re gold and he’s, you know, kicking your bleep [a**] and it’s amazing.”

Fans found Poulter’s description of his experience quite hilarious and adorable. The actor also went on to say that it was a crazy experience. Hopefully, Bautista enjoyed it as much as The Revenant actor.

While talking to Horowitz, Poulter stated that fighting Bautista felt like a dream come true, saying:

“… I grew up watching Dave. I haven’t told Dave this and I would never want to kind of embarrass him. But you know, I grew up kind of watching Dave and also really admiring what he did in Guardians as an actor. So to suddenly be like toe to toe with him and doing that scene was very bizarre but really really fun.”

Will Poulter also revealed that he had to be very careful during the fight scene because he had to have a lot of self-control to keep from punching Bautista in the face because The Drax actor was painted purple and Poulter punching him would stand out as gold marks on his face.
