Fans have pointed out that they are expecting the movie to be better than Morbius, which starred Jared Leto in it. The mention of Morbius comes up because writers Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless are the common link to both projects. Morbius received criticism for its writing, visual effects, and post-credits scenes; the only performance that received appreciation was of Matt Smith. The movie received negative reviews from the audience as well.

A new 15-second teaser of Madame Web dropped on Saturday showcasing that there would be at least three versions of Spider-Woman in the story. It has been said that Madame Web will introduce the idea of the multiverse to the franchise that Venom played by Tom Hardy started.
