Zachary Levi Branded the “Most immature man working in Hollywood” after James Gunn Comment
Zachary Levi has played many different roles over the years. From voicing Flynn Rider in the 2010 Disney-animated feature film Tangled, which is based on the fairy tale Rapunzel to portraying the DC superhero Shazam in the eponymous movie and its sequel, Levi has proved his proficiency as an actor.
Despite all of his achievements, things took a dark turn for Zachary Levi when Shazam! Fury of the Gods turned out to be a box-office bomb. There were obviously numerous factors that contributed to the movie’s failure. However, every once in a while, Levi makes the headlines for some comment he made about the movie or the DC Studios. One of his recent comments about DC Studios’ co-CEO James Gunn has spelled trouble for him this time.
Zachary Levi’s Recent Comments Have Landed Him in Trouble
Show business is risky to the point that even some of the best movies flop at the box office, only to be nominated for some of the most prestigious awards out there. While Shazam! Fury of the Gods wasn’t nominated for any awards in addition to its commercial failure, Zachary Levi has repeatedly insisted that it is a good movie and should have done better.
Recently, Levi made a scathing comment regarding James Gunn. When asked by Comicbook.com if he would like to return to Gunn’s DCU like the director’s brother Sean Gunn, who has already secured the role of Lord Maxwell in DCU, the Tangled: Before Ever After actor said: “When you’re the brother of the guy who runs DC, I guess you get to play who you want.” This has led to fans being cold towards Levi as one of them labeled him as the “most immature man working in Hollywood”.

Whether Levi meant what he said about Sean Gunn or was trying to make a harmless joke is hard to tell. That being said, James Gunn has been often accused of exercising his powers to call in favors for his brother and his wife, so it would not be too surprising if Levi did mean what he said.
Zachary Levi on the DC Universe Reboot
Adaptations of the DC superhero comics have been around for a long time. Some of the recent DC Extended Universe movies didn’t do too well, but hopefully, the upcoming DC Universe reboot is going to do better with its first set of films already lined up.
Addressing this reboot back in March, Zachary Levi told Comicbook.com:
“It’s kind of a rolling reset, if you will. There’s a lot of things that were inherited that were already kind of well before Peter and James even got to the positions they’re in right now. There were lots of conversations about what’s going to move forward and what’s not, and how do we, ‘How do we?’ I’m way over here as a part of the ‘we,’ but how do the powers that be figure out how to chop this up and try to make it work moving forward?”
Levi also went on to say that he has known the joint heads of the DC Studios for a long time as Peter Safran was his producer on Shazam! and has some mutual friends with James Gunn. While the future of Shazam! is uncertain at the moment, hopefully, fans will get an update soon.
