6 Movies in Warner Bros 2024 Movie Slate Even Disney Can’t Compete With
Warner Brothers Studios’ film lineup for next year seems promising. In the ever-expanding cinematic universe, there goes on a spree of blockbusters. In the era of OTT platforms and streaming services, the number of cinemagoers has remained relatively high.
The studios have not been affected much by this transition state as the movies continue to do numbers on either platform. Speaking of which, Warner Brothers Studios had a great year in 2023. The immense success of Barbie brought the studio a lot of money. The impending release of a few films suggests that 2024 would be just as big for WB.
Dune 2
With a star-studded cast ensemble including Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, Florence Pugh, and Austin Butler amongst others, Dune 2 is potentially the biggest hit WB can have in the first quarter.
The success of the first installment of Frank Herbert’s novel film adaptation has set the bar high. The release date of the film has been rescheduled before, due to the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes. This has contributed to the anticipation for the film.
Dune Two will hit theaters on March 1.
Mickey 17
This film is a science fiction written and directed by South Korean filmmaker Bong Joon-ho. It follows the story of the eponymous character who is sent on an expedition to colonize the ice world Niflheim. Starring Robert Pattinson and Mark Ruffalo amongst other talented individuals, the film is an adaptation of Edward Ashton’s book.
Films of the novel and Pattinson look forward to this one. The film marks Pattinson’s return to the silver screen after The Batman, which is another WB project.
This movie will hit theatres on March 29.

GodzillaXKong: The New Empire
The 38th film in the longest-running franchise in the world of cinema, Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire can easily outdo most films being released this upcoming year. This film is the long-awaited sequel of the 2021 film Godzilla X Kong.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga
With a legendary cast including the likes of Chris Hemsworth and Anya Taylor-Joy, Furiosa is a post-apocalyptic adventure that promises a thrilling adventure. Created by Nico Lathouris and George Miller, the film is both a prequel and spin-off to the 2015 film of the Mad Max franchise.
Furiosa will have a Spring release on May 24.
Joker 2
Joker: Folie à Deux, is one of the most highly anticipated films of the upcoming year. With Joaquin Phoenix reprising his role as Joker and Lady Gaga playing Harley Quinn, the film can be one of the greatest.
Directed by Todd Philips, it is a musical thriller, a rare and intriguing combo. A crime story tainted with romance is something that screams entertainment.
Joker 2, will hit theaters near and far, just in time for the spooky season, on October 4.
The Lord of The Rings: The War of The Rohirrim
The awe-inspiring world of J. R. R. Tolkien is returning to the silver screen with this one. Lord of The Rings is one of the greatest works in the fantasy genre. These books and movies have and continue to shape generations. This can prove to be quite a bankable endeavor for WB and a perfect family outing where parents relive their younger years and children discover this franchise.
This movie is among the late releases for WB, on December 13.
