“A$AP Rocky just literally jumped over me”: 34 Year Old Rapper Apologizes For Using Fan’s Shoulder To Hop A Barrier
One of the most memorable moments from the 2023 Met Gala was A$AP Rocky’s decision to jump over a barricade while using a woman’s face as leverage. He used his fan’s face as a “springboard” during the incident to gain enough leverage to jump over the fence.
Journalist, Philip Lewis shared a video of the incident on Twitter, and it quickly became popular. Both Rocky and the victim of the incident saw the video. The woman was identified as Madelyn Llanes, a 21-year-old student.
Llanes also uploaded her selfie to Twitter which was taken immediately following the incident, in which she appeared a little confused and disheveled. The shocking incident occurred as Llanes and a number of other fans waited for celebrities to arrive in their designer attire for the Met Gala on Monday.
Now, after the incident, which happened in front of the Carlyle Hotel in New York City, the 34-year-old artist, A$AP Rocky took to social media to express his regret.
A$AP Rocky’s Apology To The Fan He Squashed Prior To The 2023 Met Gala
The Met Gala’s red carpet is where all the magic happens. Celebrities appear in their most stunning outfits as photographers take countless pictures. However, the route to the red carpet and that famously large staircase is sometimes chaotic. Just as in the case of Rihanna’s boyfriend.
A$AP Rocky also managed to make his way to the front of the line by weaving through the crowd of people. But it was not before using an unaware bystander’s shoulder to help lift himself over the hotel’s barrier. Eventually, this caused the woman’s glasses to become misaligned.
The fan, then posted a selfie with her oversized frames on Twitter, saying, “A$AP Rocky just literally jumped over me.”

The rapper, 34, commented on the selfie, “LOL MY FAULT $WEETHEART,” and then followed her (@youareasapmad) account.

Rocky attended the Met Gala on Monday night, but this time he took a more conventional route. The Everyday rapper was captured navigating fans in a since-deleted video as he made his way to the hotel entrance. He hoisted himself over the barrier with the assistance of one of his fan’s shoulders.

When A$AP Rocky and Rihanna, his pregnant girlfriend, finally arrived at the Met Gala carpet, they were both dressed fabulously in honor of fashion legend, Karl Lagerfeld, to whom the evening was devoted. The rapper personified Lagerfeld’s instantly recognizable look for Chanel by dressing in a suit jacket on top and a plaid kilt on the bottom.
On the other hand, the Diamonds songstress looked stunning in a white Valentino gown with a cape decorated with flowers. She sported bulky white sunglasses with enormous diva eyelashes sewn onto the front to enhance her dramatic appearance.
The 2023 Super Bowl halftime show featured a jaw-dropping performance by Rihanna, who revealed in February that she is expecting her second child. It happened almost nine months after the birth of her son with her boyfriend, Rocky.
In May 2022, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky welcomed their first child, a boy. The Lift Me Up songstress didn’t reveal any photos of her son’s face until December of last year when he was seven months old. Since then, she has given fans a number of absurdly adorable pictures and videos.
