Denzel Washington is neither a fan of attending events nor giving interviews and on the off-chance that he does either of those, he has to have a very strong reason for that. While being interviewed by CinemaBlend on the virtual press day for Equalizer 3, Fuqua said that the Glory star does not get personally involved when one of their movies is in post-production, but gives his opinions on it after a private preview screening. He said:

“He [Washington] doesn’t with me; he’s never coming to the editing bay or anything like that. We discuss the film once I get a cut that I think is good enough to show him. I’ll show him, and we discuss whatever comments and things like that, and I go back into the lab and do my work and that’s it. We’ve had that relationship since Training Day.”

Considering that the two of them have been working together for more than two decades now, there is obviously going to be a sense of trust between them which enables them to make some of the best projects ever.
