Big Plans for Spider-Man Teased By Venom Producer
The dispute between Disney and 20th Century Fox seemed to have dragged Spider-Man. The Spider-Man franchise was seemingly cancelled due to the difference of opinions between the two giant companies. However, the reconciliation now indicates we will see more of the Wall-Crawler in the upcoming movies. Recently, someone just dropped an easter egg related to Spider-Man who is returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe with his adventures.
Matt Tolmach’s Easter Egg
The Venom producer,Matt Tolmach, recently revealed in his interview about the possibility of seeing the hero and the anti-hero share the screen. Though Tolmach did not explain much, he did say that “We have big plans.” Now that comment adds fuel to the fire for all the Spidey fans. For a long time, fans have hoped to see Spider-Man and Venom share the screen. Hey, our dreams may come to life in the future.
Ruben Fleischer Comments
Well, the one person who has our attention is none other than Venom director Ruben Fleischer. While he was promoting his movie Zombieland: Double Tap he was asked his thoughts on Spider-Man. The fandom asked him whether Spider-Man could be facing off against Venom on the big screen? Although Andy Serkis is directing the sequel for Venom, Ruben Fleischer thinks that the two will be crossing each other’s paths at some point.
Fleischer says, “That’s where it’s all going to lead. And that’s the exciting thing because we changed the origin of Venom … in the comics, he evolved from Spider-Man, but because of the Marvel-Sony thing, we weren’t able to that. And so the thing I think it’s building towards, and will be exciting to see, is when they do confront each other.”
Kevin Feige’s Thoughts
It seems the President of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige believes that the hero and the anti-hero will face-off soon. Feige says, “I think probably it’s up to Sony,” Feige told CinemaBlend when asked about the prospect of a team-up film. “Sony has both those characters and, has Venom in their world. I don’t know what their plans are for another Venom or if they’re doing that. But it seems likely at some point.”
