Jennifer Lopez is the jack of all trades and the master of all of them too. From successful business ventures to movies, she has been dominating Hollywood for more than three decades now. But unlike others, she started out humble and had to make her own path to get to the top. So there is no doubt that the actress had to face her fair share of hardships and struggles while she was building her empire. But one thing that kept her going, and helped he cement her name in the industry was her confidence.

A 1998 interview that recently resurfaced showed, how much the actor has grown with time. Although she is not nearly like her cutthroat unapologetic self now, fans cannot help but wish, for her older self to make a comeback. Lopez, who is much more poised and understated now, showcased her bluntness in the interview which resulted in a spill-fest. One such incident that she shared on the chit-chat was her bruising the ego of her co-star Wesley Snipes.

“I was like, ‘What an [expletive].’ Actors are used to getting their way and to treating women like objects. They’re so used to hearing the word ‘Yes.'”

Jennifer Lopez on her working experience with Wesley Snipes

The highly unsuccessful action-comedy that starred the two stars, Jennifer Lopez and Wesley Snipes, who played lovers on screen did not have a fun experience working with one another. During an interview with SAG-AFTRA Foundation, Lopez revealed the horror she had to face while working. She stated,

“It was horrible. It was my first one…my first big role in a big-budget movie. And I had to do this love scene. And I had never done a love scene before. I mean, I had done kissing, caressing, you know, but I had never done a s*x scene before, so I was really nervous.”

The actress then further claimed, although she was inexperienced, her co-star did not help the situation at all, which then led her to regret doing the scene very much in the future. She said,

“I didn’t want to do it. I didn’t think it was necessary. I wish now I had put up more of a fight. But when you first start working professionally, if you wanna work and you want your chance, you take whatever they give you. I didn’t think I had the right to say ‘No’, like, ‘No, I’m not doing this’, and that’s it!”

Even after urging the producers to remove the scene, Snipes was adamant about it and did not consider Lopez’s request. She said,

“He was a big star at that time, with a lot of clout, and I was just starting out. It was my big break. And he really pressured me. He told me if the scene wasn’t hot enough, my part would end up on the cutting room floor. And that it would be bad for my career, like I’d get a reputation as difficult to work with.”

The actress then shared her take and thanked karma for avenging her,

“I felt violated. I swore I’d never work with him again. He’s not done too well lately anyway… so maybe that’s karma!”
