Blink Twice Trailer Introduces us to the Most Horrifying Side of Channing Tatum
The upcoming psychological black comedy-thriller movie Blink Twice, directed by actress Zoë Kravitz from a screenplay she co-wrote with E.T. Feigenbaum, stars Channing Tatum, Naomi Ackie, and more. The movie follows the story of a waitress becoming infatuated with a tech mogul, traveling to his private island, and witnessing things go haywire.
The actress initially started developing the movie in 2017 under the name P***y Island, but it was eventually changed to Blink Twice. The movie is set to explore the dark sides of wealth and power and the newly released trailer showcases the same.
Channing Tatum describes his Blink Twice character as ‘dark’
The much-awaited trailer for Channing Tatum starrer Blink Twice as actress Zoë Kravitz’s directorial debut has arrived and has left the fans impressed. The movie is going to follow the story of tech billionaire Slater King, played by Tatum, bringing two women he just met to his private island for a weekend until things do not go as planned.
The trailer opens with the line, ‘So, everybody’s dead’, which instantly gets the audience interested in knowing where this story is going to take them. The plot of the movie is kept under wraps, but Channing Tatum, in his conversation with EW back in January, said,
“I play someone a little darker than I’ve ever played. We are definitely exploring some very uncomfortable themes, and I don’t want to give away too much, but I’ve definitely never played a character like this. It was scary to play because it’s definitely going to be a talk piece when it comes out. I think people are really going to want to talk about it. That’s the kind of the point, in a way. It’s meant to unsettle you.”
Actress Zoë Kravitz also explained that the title of the movie was not Blink Twice but something very significant at the time of her writing the screenplay. She mentioned that it represents the time when it would have been acceptable for a group of men to call a place that. It was originally titled P***y Island, and in her interview with WSJ Magazine, the actress was asked why she chose Tatum for the role of Slater King. She said,
“I wanted to find someone who hadn’t played a dark character before, because I think that’s exciting to watch someone who’s mostly played a boy next door, a good guy, a love interest, all of that. I felt, even from afar, before I knew him, that he was a feminist and that he wasn’t afraid of exploring that darkness because he knows he’s not that.”
Kravitz noted that it was one of the reasons why she was keen on getting him on board. Tatum is excited for the audience to watch the movie and see his girl kill it.
