Chris Pratt said gaining weight for Andy Dwyer had adverse affect on him
Chris Pratt in the interview with Men’s Health said that he said to the creators of Parks and Recreation that he wanted to get fatter for the role and they loved it. He did get fat but it was the opposite of what he had thought it would feel like.
Chris noted,
“I was impotent (later clarified), fatigued, emotionally depressed. I had real health issues that were affecting me in a major way. It’s bad for your heart, your skin, your system, your spirit.”
Pratt later clarified that he didn’t know what impotent meant when he said it, but what he meant was his spirit was dull and he didn’t feel great about himself.

Chris Pratt says watching Zero Dark Thirty made him decide to always be in shape
Chris Pratt appeared in Jessica Chastain‘s 2012 American action thriller movie Zero Dark Thirty, in which he played the character of Justin Lenihan, a DEVGRU operator for whom he explained that he had to lose a lot of weight. In his interview he said,
“I saw myself in Zero Dark Thirty, and I thought: ‘That dude’s badass. That guy will kill me.’ I played a character who is tougher than me and made it believable. No one called bullshit.”

In the sixth season of Parks and Recreation, Andy told another character that he had lost 50lb by giving up beer for a week, which turned out to be a good joke on the show, but it was reality for Pratt.
