Brie Larson Had A Totally Different Look For Captain Marvel

The new Captain Marvel concept shows a very unique take on Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers’ MCU entry. According to the artwork by Marvel concept artist Aleksi Briclot Carol Danvers is shown in the background of the fighter planes. Captain Marvel has been seen in different types of costumes, but this one was way different from the previous one. He captioned the artwork on Instagram as

“Early exploration for Carol Danvers / Captain Marvel for the first Captain Marvel Movie. Here with the full headset device.
As an elite fighter pilot with some hint of Kree tech. I was also inspired by the Jelly Rogers squad, especially their color scheme (B&W and yellow with a skull logo). Which was also the obvious inspiration for the Valkyries fighter VF-1 in Macross.
And some Top Gun vibe.”

The yellow, black, and white design for Captain America is inspired by a Navy pilot squadron from the 1950s, Jolly Rogers. The Marvel concept artist Aleksi Briclot mentioned Top Gun as one of the inspirations behind the artwork. The retractable mask and the black and yellow jacket suit make the entire look of Captain Marvel stand out in comparison to other superheroes. However, due to some unknown reasons, the artwork could not make it to the final production.
