Christina Hodson, Who Wrote the Disastrous $205M Birds of Prey Movie, Reportedly Writing ‘The Brave and the Bold’
Christina Hodson is a well-known Taiwanese and half-Caucasian British film screenwriter from London, England. Some of Hodson’s best works as a screenwriter are Bumblebee, the psychological thriller Shut In, DC film Batgirl, the much-awaited DC film The Flash, and Unforgettable.
Hodson started her career as a development executive in London for Focus Features. Her transition as a screenwriter began in 2012 when her first screenplay for Shut In became the 2012 Black List. In May 2015, Warner Bros. hired Hodson to write the new script for The Fugitive. In the same year, she joined hands with Paramount Pictures to expand the Transformers Universe.

Christina Hodson’s Birds Of Prey Misses The Mark
Birds of Prey was neither a gigantic hit nor a super flop. It was a decent movie and garnered a dedicated fan base. Written by Christina Hodson from Asian descent, it was directed by Cathy Yan. The film had a female-led ensemble with a diverse cast. Hodson’s movie earned $19.8 million during the weekend and the $82 million film has earned $143.1 million worldwide.
The film got 79% rating from Rotten Tomatoes and its top cast includes Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Rosie Perez as Renee Montoya, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Helena Bertinelli, and Jurnee Smollett as Dinah Lance.
Margot Robbie’s role and her action scenes was loved by the fans but the plot was tagged as loose. While the film kept some audiences entertained, some thought that it lacked a good antagonist which made it a bit boring.

Christina Hodson to write Brave and the Bold
In January 2023, Christina Hodson joined the team of writers to expand the stories of DC Universe. Universal Pictures have announced this year that she will be co-writing the eleventh installment of the Fast & Furious franchise with Oren Uziel.
Apart from it, it was revealed by recent sources that Hodson will be writing the story of Brave and the Bold. The upcoming superhero film is based on the DC Comics superheroes, Batman and Robin and will be an installment of the Chapter One: Gods and Monsters in the DC Universe.
The film will feature Batman and his son, Damian Wayne and will attempt to establish new interpretations of their iconic characters.
