Actress Daisy Ridley is known for portraying the character of Rey in the Star Wars sequel trilogy; 2015’s The Force Awakens and later in 2017’s The Last Jedi and 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker. The actress who was unknown to the majority of the audience of Star Wars at the time of her casting has been appreciated for her performance in the Star Wars sequel trilogy.

Ridley has also appeared in 2017’s adaptation of Agatha Christie’s novel Murder on the Orient Express followed by her portrayal of Ophelia in 2018’s Ophelia alongside Naomi Watts and Clive Owen. The actress had also appeared in Chaos Walking in 2021 opposite Tom Holland. Daisy Ridley recalls her encounter with Harrison Ford at Indiana Jones 5 premiere

Actress Daisy Ridley appeared on the Happy Sad Confused podcast where she recalled an incident from Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny premiere back in June 2023. She shared that she met Harrison Ford at the premiere and mentioned that it felt weird to her why would the actor remember her even though they did a whole film together. Ridley went on to explain,

“I was like Hey Harrison not sure if you remember me and then was Tongue Tied so I said how are you, really like Shrinking (Apple TV+ show starring Harrison Ford) which by the way was totally true. I was talking to him like I had never met the guy before but I just go when I’m uncomfortable, I go quiet a bit like can’t make eye contact so it’s annoying.”

The actress in an interview with AlloCiné while promoting her movie Sometimes I Think About Dying, recalled her first read-through for a Star Wars movie and explained how she felt the entire time. She said,

“After the read through, me and John Boyega went to rehearse with J.J.Abrams because J.J. was like ‘that was not great’. So we literally had to go and rehearse straight away, because the nerves were so strong. But yes, I was very happy, just sat there between Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher.”

Daisy Ridley mentioned in the interview that she enjoyed her time on Star Wars and is very happy that she gets to do it again.

Daisy Ridley talks about portraying Rey once again in the untitled Star Wars movie

Directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, Daisy Ridley will appear once again as Rey in an untitled Star Wars movie which is set fifteen years after the events of The Rise of Skywalker. The new upcoming movie is going to focus on Rey and setting up a new Jedi order. She shared with AlloCiné,

“I was actually making my own film last year, and Kathy Kennedy said that she wanted to have breakfast. And I thought we were just having breakfast and I was literally eating my breakfast when she said, ‘Oh, we might do another Star Wars movie.’”

Ridley further shared that she had given the idea a thought for a while and after she knew what was the story going to be, she said she knew it was something that she wanted to do. The actress added that she thinks that the upcoming movie is going to be a fantastic exploration of the Star Wars world.

She lastly mentioned that it’s a cool way of taking the story on in a bit of a different direction. In an interview with Inverse, she recalled the piece of advice she received from J.J. Abrams following her casting in 2015, which was for her to look at the role as something, that is a religion for people. She admitted that Star Wars changed her life and pushed her into the limelight for an extremely passionate fan base.
