English actor Daniel Radcliffe started charming the world at just 11 years of age when he began portraying the Wizarding World protagonist Harry Potter. He is not Harry Potter anymore, but that has not deterred him from keeping the audience charmed with his phenomenal acting skills.

Daniel Radcliffe’s physique has gotten a revamp sparking rumors that he was going to star as the mutant Wolverine. Whether that was truly the reason for him getting ripped remained unanswered until a recent interview in which he also revealed the reason for his body transformation.

Daniel Radcliffe Aimed To Stay Fit

Daniel Radcliffe welcomed a baby with his long-term girlfriend Erin Darke in April 2023. The new parents decided to take a break from work so that they could spend time with their baby. The Lost City actor is returning to acting, finally putting an end to his fans’ long wait to see their favorite entertainer grace the screen once again.

Radcliffe made a comeback to stage acting in late 2022 as he portrayed Charley Kringas in the Stephen Sondheim musical Merrily We Roll Along. He starred alongside Lindsay Mendez and Jeffrey Groff. In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, all three actors appeared to take a lie-detector test.

The Beast of Burden actor chose to go first and when he was asked if he had gotten buff for no reason, he answered affirmatively, as he laughed and said:

“I got buff because I am obsessive, and I want to…you’ve seen my parents, they’re like insane fitness people. So that’s just been passed on…”

While people need no reason to stay fit and can do such things for their own wellness, Daniel Radcliffe’s physical transformation caught fans’ eyes because he is one of the actors that they find suitable for replacing Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The X-Men movie series began in 2000 and has since been expanded with numerous films and spin-offs. The franchise was based on the Marvel comics about the superhero team of the same name. After Disney took over 21st Century Fox, Disney CEO announced that the upcoming movie Deadpool 3 would be released under the MCU.

The X-Men franchise is going to be an integral part of the MCU and given that Marvel Studios is looking to reboot it, a lot of characters will be cast including the iron-clawed mutant superhero Wolverine. In the original X-Men series, Hugh Jackman played the character but he retired years ago and is planning to stay that way despite his appearance in the upcoming Deadpool 3.

Fans have their own views about who they want to see as Wolverine and Daniel Radcliffe is one of the actors who is in the run for the character. However, in the Vanity Fair interview, when his co-stars asked if he had started the rumor, he revealed that he had not and that getting buff had nothing to do with it. He found the fan casting flattering, but he was certainly not going to portray the superhero.
