The original showrunners of Daredevil, Erik Oleson and Steven S. DeKnight have finally addressed some reports that the Netflix series is finally getting a Disney+ revival.

Oleson, who helmed the third season of Daredevil, replied to the news on his Twitter handle saying, “Thrilled to learn that #Daredevil lives on! Best cast and best fan base EVER!” This comment was also retweeted by DeKnight (Season 1 boss) who also added “Truth!” This leaves the co-architects of the second season Marco Ramirez and Doug Petrie as the only showrunner of the series yet to publicly comment on Matt Murdock’s return to Disney+ and MCU.

Here’s the tweet:

The news of a new Daredevil series first came in May, with Chris Ord and Matt Corman being tapped to executive produce the show. After months of speculation that Daredevil would eventually make a TV return after Charlie Cox returned to reprise his role of Matt Murdock in No Way Home and Vincent D’Onofrio made a comeback as Wilson Fisk in Hawkeye. These two appearances marked a proper introduction for the duo to the MCU, as the current status of the Daredevil series still remains under dark clouds.

As added by Marvel Studios Boss Kevin Feige, a new Daredevil series is reportedly underway during the last year’s interview. “If you were to see Daredevil in upcoming things, Charlie Cox, yes, would be the actor playing Daredevil,” he said. “Where we see that how we see that, when we see that, remains to be seen.” Despite Feige’s statement, it should be worth noting that both Disney and Marvel Studios have yet to officially confirm Daredevil.

Apart from headlining a relaunch of Daredevil, Charlie Cox is also rumored to make an appearance as Daredevil in the forthcoming Hawkeye spinoff Echo. He’ll be joined by Kingpin, despite the crime lord’s demise during the Hawkeye finale titled, “So This Is Christmas?” At the moment, none of the actors are officially attached to the production at the moment.

There are also some reports claiming that Charlie Cox shall portray a different version of Daredevil than he did in the Netflix series, although this has not yet been verified by any official sources.

The first three seasons of Daredevil are streaming on Disney+ now. The new series doesn’t yet have a release date yet.
