He even explained that the inspiration for the dorky look came from Brad Pitt. He said-

“It’s funny because when Pitt told me he had selected a bucket hat for Bullet Train, I was like, ‘OK, dude, you’re stepping into our sandbox.’”

The offbeat look was simply a result of suddenly noticing a German tourist at the airport. David Fincher wanted the costume designer Cate Adams to come up with something very similar to the ensemble look of the tourist.

David Fincher On Michael Fassbender’s Character In The Killer

During an interview with the famous media platform Variety, David Fincher reflected on Michael Fassbender’s character. He revealed that somewhere he wanted the banality of the assassin’s character to make the audience nervous instead of feeling sympathetic towards him. He said-

“Sympathy was the last thing on my mind as it relates to this character. He didn’t need to be frightening. You know, the banality of evil. My hope is that someone will see this film and get very nervous about the person behind them in line at Home Depot.”
