Despite Colossally Bad Reviews, Jurassic World Dominion Still Conquers Box Office With $143M Collection
Whether or not you actually loved it, there’s no denying that Jurassic World: Dominion looked drop-dead gorgeous on the big screen – and especially if you saw it in IMAX! The film opened last week to roaring sales, including a colossal $143 million while playing in just a handful of theaters. It’s currently receiving mixed reviews from critics around the country (currently sitting at 79% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes), so its future is heavily influenced by audience feedback and word-of-mouth moving forward.
Jurassic World: Dominion Is Doing Quite Well When Compared With Others
When compared with films like Spider-Man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Jurassic World Dominion is performing quite well. Even when compared with Tom Cruise’s recently released Top Gun: Maverick, Dominion is running quite exponentially. With that being said, the initial box office reports of Dominion are only a result of the slight decline in its popularity. But whatever may be the case, the future looks bright anyway! This could be backed up by the fact that the film has generated around $245 million overseas. And this is exactly when the overall tally becomes close to $389 million.

The Viewers Are More Receptive Than The Critics
Audience members and critics of Dominion received it very differently. Audiences gave the sequel a boost with an “A,” while critics gave the movie a much lower grade at 30% on Rotten Tomatoes. The sequel reunites original cast members Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum, and Laura Dern with Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, who headline the sequel trilogy set years after Isla Nublar is destroyed by volcanic eruption and dinosaurs roam freely alongside humans.
