Elliot Page Recalls Falling For Leonardo DiCaprio’s Friend Amid Horrible On-set Experience in ‘Inception’

By going public with his actual identity, Page is now an inspiration for millions of trans and non-binary people out there. At a certain point in his professional career, Page found it hard to fit into the male-centric acting setup and felt alienated due to Hollywood’s standards.
Elliot Page Opens Up About Trans Journey
In 2020, Oscar-nominated actor, Elliot Page announced for the first time that they are transgender and their pronouns are he/they. The 33-year-old Canadian actor made the announcement via a Twitter letter in which he celebrated living authentically and simultaneously also acknowledged the fear of revealing his gender because of the violence and harassment against the trans community.
Parts of his letter read,
“I feel lucky to be writing this, To be here. To have arrived at this place in my life…I can’t begin to express how remarkable it feels to finally love who I am enough to pursue my authentic self. The truth is, despite feeling profoundly happy right now and knowing how much privilege I carry, I am also scared”
He has been a long-time activist for LGBTQ+ rights and his announcement was honored with immense joy and support by various actors and platforms like, Netflix, famous trans activists, and celebrities like Mark Ruffalo, Julianne Moore, and RuPaul’s Drag Race star Peppermint along with other prominent personalities flooded the Twitter with the love for Juno actor, Elliot Page’s new true identity.
Elliot Page Recalls Going On A Double Date
Elliot Page recently revealed that he once went on a double date with Leonardo DiCaprio, his mother, and a friend of The Departed actor after they worked in Inception. He talked about his experience when he went on a double date with the Titanic actor soon after they worked together in Christopher Nolan’s thriller.
Page talked about his dating history in his autobiography called Pageboy. He said in the memoir, “While filming Inception, a friend of Leonardo DiCaprio’s visited and we had a lovely connection.” He referred to DiCaprio’s friend as Peter and said, “Peter was warm to everyone, eyes beaming with care. When I saw Leo next, I told him I liked his friend, to which he responded that his friend liked me, too.”
Recalling his experience, Page added, “For our first date we went to [US-based theme park] Universal Studios with Leo and his mother. Peter and I sat close on the rides, our thighs just touching.” The Umbrella Academy actor added that his own mother was over the moon when she came to know that Page was in a relationship with a man though the union was short-lived and the affair came to an end in a month or two.
