Fans Point Out the “Dumbest f**king thing” in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire Trailer
Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire Trailer just launched on Sunday. It is the fifth installment in the Monsterverse and it has hyped the audience for good reason ever since it was announced. It comes after the immensely successful Godzilla vs. Kong. Adam Wingard, who directed the movie, is returning to helm this one as well. Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, and Kaylee Hottle are coming back in this movie alongside some newcomers like Dan Stevens and Fala Chen.
While many are excited about the movie, when the trailer dropped, many fans pointed out one thing that sticks out like a sore thumb in it. Many have taken to X (formerly Twitter) to complain about it, calling it the “dumbest f**king thing” in the trailer.
The one thing that did not work out for the fans in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire trailer
The trailer for Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire shows these iconic two monsters coming together and confronting a new threat. The trailer begins with a voiceover challenging the notion that life can only exist on the earth’s surface, and slowly the trailer delves into the rise of a new empire that can be threatening to the existence of every life on earth. Watch the trailer below:
This is pretty much on par with the official synopsis of the movie, which says:
“This latest entry follows up the explosive showdown of Godzilla vs. Kong with an all-new cinematic adventure, pitting the almighty Kong and the fearsome Godzilla against a colossal undiscovered threat hidden within our world, challenging their very existence – and our own. The epic new film will delve further into the histories of these Titans, their origins and the mysteries of Skull Island and beyond, while uncovering the mythic battle that helped forge these extraordinary beings and tied them to humankind forever.”
However, there is a scene at the end of the trailer that shows Godzilla and Kong running towards the camera, which has the fans wheezing and making memes on social media. When Discussing Films posted the trailer on X, many were upset because of how bad it looked due to the CGI and how the scene was conceptualized. Many even pointed out that Kong’s armor looks like the infinity gauntlet of Thanos from Avengers: Infinity War. Check out some of the reactions of the fans below:

Godzilla is majestic for his walk not running.
Leave the running to Kong please 😭— ROYAL SON (@bojan_knight) December 4, 2023
How? Godzilla should be runnin Gn like that he’s not designed to run on all fours over long distances he doesn’t gallop his body weights to massive for that. He can only move on all fours short distances.
