Forget Leonardo DiCaprio’s The Revenant, ’Halo’ Filmmaker Roel Reiné’s Upcoming Thriller Uses a Real-life Grizzly Bear to Film its Violent Scenes
Dutch filmmaker Roel Reine has recently been in talks for his excellence behind the television series Halo, and recent updates on his upcoming movie suggest that it will be just as brilliant. Appreciated for works like Admiral (2015), Death Race 2 (2010), etc., Reinè is all set to hit the theaters with a risky thriller.
Reinè’s upcoming movie is surely going to give goosebumps to the viewers with the kind of real action it has decided to record. Although the filmmaker’s plan may sound too risky, it still has a lot of potential to serve the audience with something genuinely real and exciting.
No CGI, Producers of Halo Creator Roel Reinè’s New Movie Confirmed It Is Going to Be Real This Time
Owner of Rebel Film production company, Roel Reinè has cooked something really interesting this time for his upcoming thriller Savage Hunt. Production of this survival thriller has already begun in Sofia, Bulgaria. The main catch about the movie is a risk factor Reinè is betting on.
If one thought Leonardo DiCaprio‘s The Revenant was bone-chilling, then Halo creator Roel Reiné’s upcoming movie will shake them down to their core. The production of the movie has recently confirmed that they are using a real-world grizzly bear on location to shoot a few scenes.
The mention of a real bear has surprised everyone as filmmakers usually choose CGI to shoot such scenes. The producers told Deadline:
“We wanted to strive for as much realism as possible, showing how powerful nature can be, and the effects of man encroaching on an animal’s natural environment.”
Man v/s Wild has never been so real and the way it looks as of now, Reinè is pretty much sure that this kind of action-packed realism is surely going to bring in a huge number of audiences. The producers too are optimistic about the entire thing.
A Real Bear Will Appear in Savage Hunt
Roel Reinè’s Savage Hunt is a survival thriller that aims to show a man v/s wild kind of show on the screen. The plot involves a large bear hunting down human beings mercilessly and to save human lives, a vengeful tracker has been called into the scene.
The bear, according to the story, rejects tolerating the disturbance caused by the resort construction as the construction work heavily hampers the natural environment. Therefore, in defense, the bear attacks human beings and tries to save its habitat.
The use of a real grizzly bear is understandable in this context as this kind of realism helps the actors show their natural reactions without having to force them. To bring out a genuine cinematic flavor and create awareness about how human actions harm wildlife, the use of a real bear is probably a great decision taken by Reinè.
