In recent years, Pedro Pascal has been nothing short of a trailblazer in the Hollywood entertainment industry. With hit after hit, he has become the internet’s favorite actor which is quite a feat considering well, the internet is seldom a ‘loving place.’ That being said, Pascal has been absolutely unstoppable for the past couple of years, thanks to his amazing acting skills.

At the same time, any person cannot reach such great heights solely on the basis of their talents. Luck and smart movies also play a great role in one’s success. Not so long ago, Pedro Pascal made some revelations that prove this theory.

In an interview on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Pascal revealed how he found out about the audition for the role through a student who had come to him for help to make the audition tape. The Mandalorian star said:

“I was a mentor to a graduate of USC. An actor… His first audition on tape, he wants my help with, and it’s like seventeen pages of a new role for Game of Thrones. He’s like a twenty-five-year-old kid, really, really talented, good-looking… He’d never seen the show – I was a huge fan.”

So, what did this ‘huge fan’ do? Oberyn’s description in the script made Pascal believe he was fit for the role. So the next thing he knew, he had called his agent and made his own audition tape.

Pascal realised that sending in his audition tape might not get him the role considering the huge number of auditions that must have been received. This is where his friendship with Sarah Paulson came in handy. Paulson was friends with Game of Thrones showrunner David Benioff’s wife.

As soon as The Last of Star told his friend about his audition tape, she asked him to send it to him, and the rest, as they say, is history. Pascal played the role of Oberyn Martell, and fans would not have it any other way.
